Fibreglass pools
We only work on concrete pools. Here’s why, and how to check which kind you have.
Why we don’t do fibreglass
Our hot tubs are built into the pool’s structure, joined with steel into the existing concrete. A fibreglass shell can’t take that kind of join, and resurfacing fibreglass is a different trade with different materials. Rather than do it half-well, we don’t do it.
If your pool is fibreglass, a fibreglass pool specialist is the right call.
Not sure which you have?
- Feel the surface. Concrete is textured or pebbly. Fibreglass is smooth and glossy, almost like a boat hull.
- Tap the wall under the waterline. Concrete feels solid; fibreglass sounds a little hollow and flexes slightly.
- Look for seams. Fibreglass is one piece with a rolled lip under the coping. Concrete often has tiles or a rendered edge.
- Age and shape. Older pools with steps, ledges or unusual shapes are usually concrete.
