How we build

What happens from the first visit to the first swim, and how we join a hot tub to a pool so it stays joined.

From site visit to handover

  1. Site visit. We look at the shell, surface, equipment, pool fence and access, and take measurements.
  2. Fixed quote. A written, fixed price with what’s included and what isn’t.
  3. Approvals. If the job needs building approval, as a hot tub does, it’s lodged before work starts.
  4. Drain and prepare. We drain to suit the site and the water table, protect the surrounds and prepare the surface.
  5. Build. Repairs, new interior, tiles, coping and equipment, in the right order.
  6. Fill and balance. We refill, balance the water and start the equipment.
  7. Handover. We show you how everything works and give you your warranty terms in writing.

What “fixed price” means

After the site visit we give you a written price for the work described in the quote. It doesn't move because of our estimating, our materials or our labour.

It can change only if you change the scope, or if we uncover something nobody could see at the site visit, such as structural damage under the old surface or an engineer's requirement once the pool edge is exposed. If that happens we stop, show you, and agree the fix and its cost in writing before any extra work.

How we join a hot tub to your pool

The join between old and new concrete is where people worry about leaks. Ours is engineered, not stuck on.

  1. Drain and expose. We drain the pool and lift the coping around where the hot tub will go.
  2. Engineer checks first. A structural engineer inspects the existing pool edge before anything is cut.
  3. Tie in, not stick on. We trim the old edge where the seat crosses it, then bond new steel into the existing concrete so the hot tub and pool work as one structure.
  4. Pour in two stages, sealed at the join. Floor first, then walls and seat, with a waterstop in the joint.
  5. Waterproof inside. A full waterproofing membrane goes inside the hot tub before tiling.
  6. Water test before tiling. We fill the hot tub and hold it for 48 hours to prove it before any tile or stone goes on.
  7. Inspected at each stage. Engineer inspections at the key stages, with approvals lodged for you.

Warranty

Every job comes with a 7-year workmanship warranty on our work, in writing. Manufacturer warranties on equipment such as the spa and pool equipment are separate, and the full written terms come with your formal quote.

Licensing and approvals

Prices on this site are indicative only. Works are carried out by appropriately licensed contractors and are subject to licensing, approvals and a written contract, which we confirm with you at the site visit.
